Rules & Play for the game.
1. How to play the game.
1) Double click the icon of "Kabu.demo" to start the game. It will deal 5
cards for you and 1 card for a computer.
2) Select one card out of 5 cards by clicking on it. This is your selected
playing card for the game.
3) After selecting a card, next cards will be dealt from the left side card,
and will stop at your selected card. Then the program will ask you if you
want the third card. If you want the third card, click the square where
"Yes" is showed. The third card will be dealt for you. If not, click "No".
The third card will not be dealt.
4) After dealing the cards for the rest of cards and the computer, it will
compare your total and Computer's total, and display which is winner.
5) When you click in the window, you can start over the game again. To
quit the application, click a "GoAway Box" in the windows title bar or
type cmd + Q.
2. About the rules.
Since there are so many local rules depend on a situation or area that I can
hardly determine the standard rules, I used the rules that I played often. There are
only two types of role in the game, which are "Kuppin" for dealer and "Shippin" for
you. I'd like to add "Arashi" and "Fubuki" in a future version of the game.
The object of the game is to make cards' total larger than the opponent's and as
close as total of "9". Maximum 3 cards are dealt for each player, and you can refuse the third card if you are satisfied with the total of first 2 cards. It is not effected to the game between you and computer by other 4 cards which you don't select.
The rules for calculation of the total is; if your card is "10", "J", "Q", or "K", then
you compute the number as "0", "1", "2", or "3". If your total is over 2 digits
such as "10", "17", "24", or "39", your total is "0", "7", "4", or "9".
For example:
You have the cards "K", "3", and "8", then your total is "4" not "14".
You have the cards "5", "9", and "9", then your total is "3" not "23".
You have the cards "4" and "5", then your total is "9".
If your total is equal to or less than computer's total, you are lost.
If your cards are "1" and "4" and no third card, you get "Shippin" and you can
win over the computer's "9". But if the computer's cards are "1" and "9" and no
third card, the computer gets "Kuppin" and you are lost.
